[No AFF review] CloudSilk (White Silk Cloud) top-tier 4837 peak-hour testing — not all 4837s experience packet loss

Seller Introduction

CloudSilk, also known as White Silk Cloud, is a low-profile merchant that rarely runs promotions, focusing on US West and Europe routing nodes. This machine is different from the 4837 machines we’ve used before; outbound has top-tier optimizations for each of the three networks, and the 24-hour probe shows no packet loss on the return path. Even at peak times, only some regions experience latency increases. End-to-end tests at peak times also show no packet loss compared to others. Therefore highly recommended for beginners to get started, or for Unicom users to keep a spare node.

Baseline Peak Tests

Single-core score is excellent

Broadcast IP, Reddit unlocks bypassed; best used with landing nodes

Very impressive high-bandwidth machine; Jin Yu is a script issue, can be ignored

Three-network return 4837

Note that this machine’s Scamalytics score is unusually high, and querying AbuseIPDB shows this IP has no history of abuse.
Given this machine’s strong interconnection with US West broadband, it’s highly recommended to pair with landing nodes.
If I have time, I’ll publish a latency, speed, and packet-loss test specifically for the Line routing device - US broadband landing.

Not all 4837s drop packets—this one is pretty impressive.

I was quite surprised by the test results. I tested China Unicom’s network for two days during peak hours, and there wasn’t a single packet loss.

It would be great if this top-tier 4837 were available in APAC as well.

Is the 159-yuan package sold out? I can’t seem to find it.

Probably, this package hasn’t been adjusted since it went on sale, and the merchant rarely runs promotions.

I just set one up, but ping isn’t getting through. What’s going on? Is it possible to request an IP address change?

The itdog has taken a hit. You can use https://tcp.ping.pe/ to test port 22 on the IP. Or just ping it from your own machine. If it’s still not reachable, just submit a ticket.

I only found out from the email that by default there’s no OS—ridiculous. It’s fine once the OS is installed.

These several K-series downstreams use similar panels; a few have been designated to install later.

How bad is the packet loss?
