Follow-up after RN (Racknerd) Chicago—personal-use proxy: tested
First of all, thanks to everyone for the help!!!
Conclusion:
Using the bbr + h2 protocol, speeds around 10 MB/s; strongly recommend trying the h2 protocol.
Below is a comparison chart of the h2 (Hysteria2) protocol and the VLESS Reality protocol (home broadband):
Here is my configuration sequence
- Dallas-based machine, using the site’s tutorial to configure bbr + VLESS Reality; actual results: home broadband around 3.5 MB/s, public mobile network around 0.5 MB/s
- Applied for a new IP; basically no difference
- Requested a region change, moved from Dallas to Chicago; they said latency would be lower, but in practice it’s actually laggy; public mobile network unavailable, around 0.8 MB/s; home broadband around 1.8 MB/s (not sure about the exact number; anyway it’s very laggy, basically unusable)
- Followed Friend A’s tutorial to configure VLESS+ARGO and VMess+ARGO respectively; VMess+ARGO home broadband is 1.2 MB/s; VLESS+ARGO finally reached 8 MB/s; this speed is usable but not very stable, fluctuating between 5 MB/s and 12 MB/s
https://idcflare.com/t/topic/78731/12?u=wildman - Friend B recommends using the h2 protocol; at this point it’s quite stable; home broadband is basically around 10 MB/s, though not perfectly stable, but its range is between 8 MB/s and 15 MB/s.
